- -The Commodore 64 Theme V1.0 - June 9th 1998-
- -By Koffdrop -
- ---------------------------------------------
-
- This theme contains the following:
-
- *Wallpaper,
- *Sound effects for most standard Windows95 events
- *New My Computer, Network Neighbourhood, Recycle Bin
- Empty/Full Icons
- *New pointers
-
- I'll add an animated Startup Screen and Shutdown
- Screens and, possibly, a screensaver in the next
- version (that should bump up the file size a bit!)
-
- ---------------------------------------------
- -Notes about the theme -
- ---------------------------------------------
-
- The wallpaper is intended to be tiled. If your theme
- installation program has not done this for you simply
- open up the display properties windows and direct the
- wallpaper requester to the default location of the
- wallpaper file:
-
- c:\program files\plus\themes\c64\c64inside.bmp
-
- And tell the display properties box to TILE the
- wallpaper. If you are using Micrsoft Plus! and have
- the 'Stretch wallpaper to fit entire screen' box
- checked then make sure you UN-check it!
-
- --------------------------------------------
-
- The sounds were taken from real C64 games. Each sound
- file has the name of the game in it's file name if you
- are interested.
-
- I used Sidplay to play some .sid file of C64 music and
- converted them to .wavs and what you hear is the result.
-
- If you are interested in Sidplay and obtaining .sid files
- you can use the links at the end of this file to get what
- you need.
-
- --------------------------------------------
-
- The icons and pointers were lovingly crafted by my own
- fair hand (which should explain the unproffesional look)
-
- There isn't a whole lot more to say on that topic (!)
-
- --------------------------------------------
- -Where do I go from here? -
- --------------------------------------------
-
- Well, you could let me know what you think of my theme by
- emailing me at:
-
- koffdrop@geocities.com
-
- Or, if you prefer the more direct approach, ICQ me, my
- ICQ number is 6865155
-
- If you haven't done so already, why not wake up my hit-
- counter and visit my homepage at:
-
- http://www.geocities.com/Area51/Station/5394/
-
- --------------------------------------------
-
- If you want to listen to authentic C64 muzak you'll be
- wanting to copy of Sidplay. You can get it from:
-
- http://www.geocities.com/SiliconValley/Lakes/5147/
-
- The best place to find .sid files for use with Sidplay
- is, without doubt, The High Voltage Sid Collection.

- --------------------------------------------
- -Legal bit (sort of) -
- --------------------------------------------
- Look, I don't have a personal solictor. I don't even
- pretend to understand or comprehend 'internet' law
- so just accept this statement from me as the truth,
- the whole truth and all that..
-
- This theme is free. No money should be made from
- this theme. If you were charged then you were conned.
- Commodore, if the ghost of you cares the please
- consider this theme as a tribute and not plagarism.
- Let's face it. You're bust, I'm not. I can probably
- afford the court fees and you can't.
-
- ---------------------------------------------
- -And finally... -
- ---------------------------------------------
-
- I'm a bit sad, me. If you want to talk about the good
- old 8-bit days then email or ICQ me and we'll chat.
-
- I can talk about this kinda stuff until the cows come
- home anyway.
-
- If you want to slag me off for not loving the latest
- P450 MMX Multimedia behomoth then be my guest. Like
- they say, power is nothing without control and the
- C64 still kicks ass today. It shows that talent and
- dedication, above all else, can show what a machine can
- do.
-
- I thank you
